I consider myself extremely fortunate to have some pretty incredible people in my life. I’ve also been through the unfortunate losses of several people that I loved. My family and closest friends have been with me through some amazing highs and some devastating lows. One of the most heartbreaking lows was the loss of my 24 year old cousin to murder over a decade ago. I’m not going to write about how difficult that ordeal was, and still is. Instead, I want to use this horrifying loss as a way to introduce you to one of the most incredibly genuine and loving people I’ve ever known-his sister, Gina.
As you can imagine, losing a loved one, and in such an unnecessary way, was devastating to our entire family. “G” was no exception. I won’t tell her story because that is her story to tell and, if you trust my judgement, you will go on to read her story in her own words by visiting the webpage below.
I’m not proud that I wasn’t around to help her through her most difficult times, as I consider her one of my dearest friends. It wasn’t until she started turning things around for herself that I realized how bad it got and was truly inspired by her strength and positive outlook.
I was honored that she agreed to be the Godmother of my youngest daughter, as I know she will always provide for her a positive role model. I recently became aware of her latest project in improving her own life and her hopes to help others do the same. Reset Now 2020 is this project. I know I will personally be participating and encouraging others to do the same. The concept is easy: decide to live your life positively, one day at a time. And don’t worry if your day starts off crappy, that’s where the reset comes in – you can decide to reset your day at any moment, put the negative occurrences behind you and look forward to the rest of your day and making positive decisions.
When she initially told me about it, I couldn’t wait for her to launch her site and start helping people. I know this will help ME, I know this will help me help OTHERS so we can start an avalanche of positivity and happiness. We need this outlook in a world that is so negative and sometimes weird (hellooo? – what’s with the clowns, really?!) My bracelet order is going in ASAP and I plan to wear two every day – one for myself and one to give away if I come across a friend or stranger that looks like they may be in the need of a reset button. I also think this will be a great tool in teaching my children the power of positive thinking and how they truly can decide to be happy.
I urge you to visit the following webpage, read Gina’s story and her vision and, most importantly, decide that a happy day-a happy life-is all yours.
